New for Our January Schedule - The Hilarious Deer Camp: The Musical
Greetings!

I hope you are feeling the spirit of this Holiday Season. Thank you all for making me feel welcome here in High Point!  I can tell you that I feel richly blessed to have met and that I get to work with so many wonderful people.

Feeling a little like George Bailey at the end of It's a Wonderful Life triggers a memory to remind you that on December 22nd It's a Wonderful Life: Radio Show broadcast from the studios of WVL will take place at the High Point Theatre.  Tickets are family friendly, and the performance will bring joy to all who attend.

Speaking of spreading joy......Tickets make wonderful gifts, and one size fits all.  Tickets to Deer Camp: The Musical, starring Darryl and his other brother Darryl from the Newhart show, or Southern Fried Jazz Band, both in January would lead to immediate gratification. The remaining shows are listed below. If you don't have a specific show in mind, try a gift certificate redeemable for one year from purchase.

We are pleased to announce an additional sponsor which I'll discuss further in January. Cigna Insurance has come on board as a major season sponsor, we are delighted for their support.

We also have new options in our concession area. K-cups by Green Mountain Coffee will offer you a taste of freshly brewed coffee in flavors of your choice, a perfect pairing for our delicious fresh-baked Otis Spunkmeyer cookies.

Have a blessed and safe holiday season, and I'll see you at the theatre!

Sincerely,

David Briggs, Director
High Point Theatre

It's A Wonderful Life - Presented As a 1940's Live Radio Broadcast - Thursday, December 22

Wonderful Life
The "On Air" sign lights up and the audience is magically transported to the studios of WVL Radio on Christmas Eve 1946. A blizzard has made it impossible for the entire acting troupe to make it in for the station's annual presentation of Frank Capra's beloved holiday story. So, carrying on as best they can, four brave actors take on the challenge of bringing 30 characters to life with little more than their professional talent and the spirit of the season, a few sound effects, and the listener's active imagination.

Appealing for the young and the young at heart alike, this charming stage production has quickly become a new holiday tradition for many Triad families. Tickets are only $12 for adults, $10 for seniors and $1 for children under 12.

Tickets: (336) 887-3001 / www.highpointtheatre.com

Southern Fried Jazz Band - Coming January 27

SFriedJazzBandEach performance of the Southern Fried Jazz Band, an eight-member Dixieland band, is an experience sure to bring a smile to your face long after the show ends.

Led by veteran trumpet player Don Edwards, who has played with such show biz legends as Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra & the Rat Pack, and Louie Armstrong, this stellar ensemble features three horns and four rhythms along with female vocals that will stir the soul.

From the classic tunes Bill Bailey and Sweet Georgia Brown, to the archival Give Me Your Kisses, audience members are happily carried along on a mood-swinging journey to that "Dixieland state of mind."
