Issue No. 10.11October 2011
Greetings!

As Autumn comes upon us, and we roll our clocks back, another exciting season has started at HPT! The amazing Pat Hazell brought us a sense of wonder and some great laughs with "The Wonder Bread Years", and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is preparing to take the stage at this very moment.

Many fun events are upcoming, including the Miss North Carolina USA pageant, HPCT's "Miracle on 34th Street", and of course the NCSF's "A Christmas Carol." HPT presents the smooth jazz sounds of Najee on November 5th, and "It's A Wonderful Life" on December 22nd.

With the turn of the colors on the trees we are reminded that the holiday season will soon be here. Tickets make a great gift, stocking stuffer or incentive for employees. You can get your gift certificate through the HPT box office between 12-5, Monday - Friday.

Please keep your eyes (and ears) open for some exciting announcements about events and happenings at the High Point Theatre.

Thank you for being a part of the High Point Theatre family.

Sincerely,

David Briggs, Director

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Live in Concert - Thursday, October 13
NGDB

Very few groups have had as profound an influence on American popular music as the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Starting out as six guys hanging

around at McCabe's Guitar Shop in Long Beach, California, trying to "figure out how not to have to work for a living," the group went on to launch the folk-rock genre and introduce an entire generation to bluegrass and American roots music. Along the way, they not only captured copious Grammy, CMA and IBMA awards, they also achieved international commercial success, including a multitude of top ten hits including "Mr. Bojangles" and "Fishin' in the Dark," as well as numerous gold and platinum albums.

Don't miss this exciting opportunity to experience the iconic Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, live in concert, Thursday evening, October 13. Shows starts at 7:30 pm!
