Greetings!
"Goodbye Joe, me gotta go" see "Mr. Bojangles" "Fishing in the Dark." We are getting excited about the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band taking the stage on October 13th. But first we have our first Carolina Crossroads event featuring Independent Film maker Matt Barr's "With These Hands" on Friday, September 30, at 7pm and Saturday, Oct. 1 at 2 pm in our gallery, followed by a conversation about our furniture foundations. Later that night the Jeff Little Trio, Wayne Henderson and the Harris Brothers will take the stage for an amazing concert featuring Blues, Bluegrass, country and Americana music. On October 8th you'll be treated to a nostalgic look at the 50's and 60's through the one man show "The Wonder Bread Years" by Pat Hazell. I look forward to seeing you at the High Point Theatre. Thank you for your support and encouragement. Sincerely, David Briggs, Director |

Theatre Launches Season During Event for Media & Guests
The media, theatre supporters and other invited guests were treated to a special evening on August 23 when the Theatre officially unveiled its "Hot Blues, Cool Jazz...and A Little Bit More" theme for 2011-2012.
Guests were greeted at the front entrance by fire-dancer Patika Starr who immediately put everyone into a party mood with her "hot" sidewalk performance. "Cool" saxophonist extraordinaire Wally West, always a delightful addition to any party, provided background music throughout the evening.
We would like to express our deep appreciation to our community partners Elizabeth Yocum and her talented staff at Decorative Magic for providing the lovely table decor, and to Barbara Green of Messiah Too for catering the event with a sumptuous array of party favorites. Our own lighting and sound technicians James Richards and Todd Dupree made the evening all the more special with their brilliant lighting and graphic effects. Thank you everyone for a job well done! |
