Greetings!
Greetings all! This month's column is short, sweet and thankful. I write today to inform you that this month I will be retiring from my position as Theatre Director. I have enjoyed my 12-year tenure working for the City of High Point/High Point Theatre and I want to thank them, my staff, the Friends of the Theatre and the Theatre Advisory commission for their support in accomplishing theatre goals. I am probably most proud of our professional series, which has grown into a popular and diverse annual program featuring 8 to 12 performances, and attracts audiences state wide and beyond. (By the way, I have just finalized booking our 2011 - 2012 season.......and I can promise you its a gangbuster!) Keep reading this newsletter - you will have first opportunity to reserve seats when the announcement is made. Finally, many thanks to you - our supporters, loyal patrons and sponsors. Without your ongoing support we could not present such outstanding talent each season. While you may not see me on the stage any more (this may be another thankful thing!) I will certainly be joining you in the audience. I look forward to seeing you at your theatre again soon............... Louisa Hart High Point Theatre Director Tel: (336) 883-3627 |

James Gregory: The Funniest Man in America - Coming Saturday, April 9, at 8 PM
Taking his cue from a good old southern upbringing where tea is sweet and accents are sweeter, front porches are wide and words are long, BBQ is the state food, y'all is a proper pronoun, chicken-fried biscuits come w/ gravy, everything is honey and someone is always getting their heart blessed ... James Gregory conveys humor with a rubberface and exaggerated body language. His is a whimsical reflection of "life from the front porch." |
