The VEEP Sustainability Partners track is designed to encourage organizations across Virginia to make environmental sustainability part of their culture through leadership, innovation, and continual improvement. Governor's Environmental Excellence Awards
The application period for the 2013 awards program is now open!GEEA
Applications for the 2013 Governor's Environmental Excellence Awards will be  accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, November 30. For 2013, there are two categories of awards:  sustainability and land conservation. 
The sustainability category is new for 2013 and replaces the previous categories of environmental program and environmental project. The land conservation category will continue to have two types of applications:  land conservation project and land conservation program.

Safer Chemicals for a Safer World, the 2012 P2 Week Theme, embodies a national effort to move toward safer alternatives and reduce chemicals of concern. The National Pollution Prevention Roundtable has created a P2 Week Toolkit to assist government, nonprofit and industry with their P2 Week planning.

Call for Papers: 24th Annual Environment Virginia Symposium 
The Virginia Military Institute's Center for Leadership and Ethics has issued a call for papers and is accepting abstracts for next year's Environment Virginia Symposium. Topics include Zero Waste and Beyond, Sustainability in Higher Education, and Energy Efficiency, among others. Authors may submit abstracts for either a speed (5 minute) or traditional (15 minute) presentation.
