Secretary Sebelius Announces Proposed Health Insurance Exchange Rules

Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS), Kathleen Sebelius today announced the release of proposed rules that would govern the marketplaces through which families will be able to purchase health insurance starting in 2014.  The Exchanges, a major provision of the health reform law (the Affordable Care Act), will be operated in many cases by the States though the Federal government reserves the right to establish an Exchange if a state chooses not to.

CDHP will soon be issuing further analysis of the proposed Exchange rules to ensure that states and advocates have the necessary information to comment on the rules with implications for oral health in mind.  In the meantime, you can read the HHS announcement as well as the proposed rules themselves.
