 IntothewoodsThumb

The Brothers Grimm "go Broadway" as the student performersfrom Blue Room Jr. offer up a cockeyed fairy tale where all of your favorite characters - Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Jack (and his beanstalk), and The Witch - meet and interact on their journeys. Into the Woods is a funny and engaging way to help young people think about the stories they've grown up with and the ethical issues raised by them.

Steven Wright

Stand-Up Comedy

Friday, October 14, 2011

Laxson Auditorium

$35 Premium | $30 Adult | $28 Senior | $23 Student/Child

WrightThumb Steven Wright, known for his surrealistic, absurd, and observation al humor, is also an Academy Award-winner and two-time Gram my-nominated comic, actor, and entertainer. Wright's humor is always delivered with the deadpan expression and flat monotone that has made him famous over decades. Wright's comedy is a steady stream of consciousness, observations on the bewilderment at the oddities of everyday life and the quirks of human nature.

Singer/Songwriter

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

Laxson Auditorium

$60 Premium | $55 Adult | $53 Senior | $40 Student/Child

It seems inevitable that k.d. lang - a langThumb Patsy Cline devotee - would record Sing It Loud, a Nashville produced blend of tasteful country pluck and twang. Lang's fall tour highlights this new album, and with the band The Siss Boom Bang, lang ruminates on romantic regret in the Roy Orbison-esque "I Confess," hits some vocal highs in "Sugar Buzz," and makes Talking Heads' "Heaven" sound even more, well, heavenly.
