Summer Wine Auction
Crabapple GDOS
Please join us for our second Summer Wine Auction on Thursday, July 29 from 7:00-9:00 PM at the home of Tom and Michelle Davis. Our Live Auction is slated to feature a wonderful assemblage of wine offerings for enthusiasts, as well as restaurant and hotel stay certificates, food and wine experiences, event tickets, and more!

Last year over $30,000 was raised for the people served by enAble, and this year we hope to increase that amount to $40,000.  Festivities will include hors d'œuvres, wine, beer, and great company as we come together to benefit enAble's 31 years of service to adults with developmental disabilities in the Metro-Atlanta area.

The ticket price is only $50 per person for a festive evening of fundraising for a worthy cause.  Please tell your friends, family and community about our fabulous auction! One hundred percent of the net proceeds from this event will be used to support the people served by enAble to live as independently as possible within their community.  SPACE IS LIMITED.

For more information, or to participate in planning this wonderful event, please contact the Development Team at devteam@enablega.org or 770-664-4347 ext. 106.

Supported Employment
Sweetwater Logo
The seven individuals working at Sweetwater Brewery are very happy to be contributing members in the community, and have the opportunity to enhance their natural support network by making new friends. The individuals are supported by a job coach from both north and south day service centers. The individuals work 5 days a week at the Atlanta brewery packaging a variety of bottled beers. The owner and operator, Freddy Bench, and the Brewmaster, Mark Medlin, have been very impressed by the quality of the work. The individuals served at enAble recently went from seasonal positions to permanent positions with Sweetwater Brewery.
Healthy Glows from Working

Crabapple GDOSThe four ladies who work at Caren Originals are always eager to return to work the next day; they package samples of skin care products for Caren's customers.  A portion of the proceeds fromCaren's are donated to the breast cancer research foundation. The small enclave has been working since October 2009 and they are happy to be a part of such a great mission. Page Beckwith and Sherry Kelly, Caren's Managers, are thrilled by their decision to hire the ladies from enAble because they have a new appreciation for people with disabilities. The ladies went from 3 days a week to 5 days a week currently!
Corporate Matching Gifts

Gift Box Clip ArtCorporate matching gifts are a great way for family members and friends to maximize personal contributions to enAble and increase the impact of their gift. By taking advantage of a company's matching gift benefit, you may be able to double or even triple the amount of a contribution.

How do I get my gift matched?

First, determine whether your company has a matching gift program by asking your Human Resources office or contacting enAble's Development Team at devteam@enablega.org.

Each company has its own guidelines for employees, spouses, retirees, and widows/widowers. Most corporate procedures are simple:

- Request a Matching Form from your company.
- Complete and submit the form to enAble along with your gift.
- enAble will verify the completed form and return it to the company.
- The company issues a matching gift contribution to enAble.

Completed forms can be sent with your personal gift to:

Statewide Use of enAble's Rights Handbook

Crabapple GDOSThe Division of Developmental Disabilities and the Delmarva Quality Management System are conducting special training sessions throughout the state titled "Understanding and Protecting Your Human Rights."  Crabapple GDOS

This training is being provided to individuals, guardians, families and providers.  We are so pleased to share that it is the enAble Individual Rights Handbook that is being used as a model with this training.  This handbook has been identified by many as one of the most original handbooks ever developed. It addresses both rights and responsibilities and includes realistic pictures that one would see in any publication read by adults.

The handbook was developed as a collaborative effort between Cec Camp, enAble's Executive Director, who had the vision, and Shae Dotson, enAble's Staff Training Coordinator, who used her creativity to put it all together.
IHG Volunteer Project
Crabapple GDOS

On May 12, approximately 50 employees from InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) visited enAble's North Day Service Center as volunteers to connect with the people served. MeetingAdvice, a Florida-based company with an Atlanta office that assists corporations with planning meetings, connected IHG to enAble and helped facilitate this wonderful opportunity. IHG has partnered with enAble for the past several years in our fundraising efforts and representation on our volunteer Board of Directors.

The volunteers were divided into groups and engaged in four activities with the individuals served: Bocce Ball, Karaoke, Monopoly, and Wii Bowling. IHG provided pizza, salad, mozzarella sticks, and chicken wings from Buckhead Pizza, and the restaurant staff remained to serve everyone. It was a fun-filled day that was appreciated by everyone.
