NEW ECHO Album Sizes!

For those occasions when you may need an extra wide or tall album, Echo has you covered! We now offer two new sizes for the Echo album line: 6x12 and 12x6. This creates a very contemporary and unique look while allowing you to showcase panoramic or square spreads.

The Echo Album is created with the beauty of a photo cover and quality of custom album pages. Some features available include the industry's tightest gutter seam, true flush mounted layouts, damage-resistant rounded corners, multiple paper types and cover textures.
All Echo albums include these options:
- Choice of Luster or Metallic Paper
- Smooth or Canvas texture cover choices
- Tight rounded corners
- Optional square page corners
- Album spreads lay flat when opened.
These new Echo Album sizes are found in two different places. Inside the Album Catalog of our Albums and Books - ROES software (this requires pages to be pre-designed) or by choosing this album type in our Album Manager tool on our website.

Shooting Outside the Studio Box
Gone are the days when a photographer wasn't considered a professional unless they had a studio. Many shooters in today's industry shoot only weddings, events, or sports teams and action shots. A studio isn't necessary for these photographers, but some space for shooting other secessions, engagement photos for example, is necessary.
Here are a few tips for finding great places to shoot your portrait work.
Check your local area for co-op studio space.
Many photographers who do have studios don't use them 7 days a week. They may rent out space by the hour or by the day. They may even rent lighting equipment and back grounds. Check your local art clubs as well for rent-able studio space. A studio space doesn't need to be a photo studio in order to use it for great photos, especially if it has natural window lighting.
Get familiar with the local parks and green ways.
Some parks can be reserved free of charge. In our area many parks can be used by professional photographers but only if a fee is paid. Always be curious of others using these public areas, especially other photographers. Be ware of the best times for shooting outdoors. Check the available light a shaded areas in advance to make sure it will be a good spot when you show up for the shoot.
Suggest shooting at the client's home.
Some of the best photos I've taken have been at the clients home. This is especially true of infant and child photography. They will feel more comfortable in their own environment and this will show in the images. Maybe offer a session that is a day in the life of your subject!
Regardless of where you decide to shoot it's a great idea to scout out three or four spots before the shoot so you can have a plan when you show up for the shoot. There will always be time for those spontaneous shots in between that makes the shoot so much fun, but I never like to be looking around like I'm not sure what to do next.
Have fun and stay cool while you're shooting out there... and keep your finger on the button!
