Social Networking
Many people hear the words Social Networking and the first thing that comes to their mind is Facebook. Facebook is only one, very important component in the vast expanse of Social Networking. Besides Facebook, social networking includes Twitter, blogging and vlogging, or video blogging. Each of these social networking vehicles has changed how we market ourselves in today's ever-changing world.
Traditional marketing, such as mass mailings, have gone by the wayside for the more efficient and free marketing tools such as Facebook, Twitter, and blogs. Besides being free, these marketing tools allow you to brand your business depending on your own DNA. You can truly be you!
To be successful with social networking, you first have to have a passion about something, photography, your dogs, rainbows, ice cream, etc. It does not matter what you are passionate about as long as you are passionate.
Secondly, you must be willing to share your passion with the world. Where and how you share your passion is based on you. If you excel in writing, then a written blog is most likely the vehicle you will want to choose. If you are not good at writing, but really enjoy videos, then you should look into vlogging. With vlogging, you use a blog and upload your short videos to it for the world to see.
Thirdly, you must be authentic. You must be you. People will see through you if you are not yourself. If you are a writer, then write and publish as you wrote it. If you are a video person, be yourself on the video, even if you are goofy, funny, sarcastic, or dry. You have to be yourself. Let your personality shine through!
Fourthly, create fantastic content! You want your readers or watchers to keep coming back to your site, and then your content MUST be fantastic, exciting, and entertaining. If you are truly passionate about your subject, your passion and personality will come through your posts.
All of the above items combined put you on the right track to building a successful social network marketing plan and a building strong brand.
