Need Confirmation?

We all like to have confirmation in our lives. Confirmation can be defined several ways and a couple of those are: "that which gives new strength or assurance" or "validation." A few synonyms of confirmation include: acceptance, authentication, green light, recognition, stamp of approval, substantiation, and verification. All of these are good, strong, positive words, and they invoke a feeling of confidence in a job well done. It is in this same spirit that we send out email confirmations of orders received at the lab. We want to let you know your effort of creating and uploading an order is being acknowledged and is proceeding in the lab as requested. This is your stamp of approval and green light to move on to your next task. So, what do you do if you don't receive an email confirmation? We know it can cause frustration if you don't find that confirmation when you're seeking it.

Once you've uploaded an order to the lab, you should expect to receive an email confirmation. It's understandable to want to jump right in and resend the order when you haven't received an email confirmation in the expected amount of time. However, that can result in duplicated orders. We're going to cover some steps today that you should take before hitting that send button again.

First- My answer would be wait. It's an unpopular answer, but the fact is, it can take one to two hours after your order completes the upload to the lab before you receive an email confirmation. Also, email confirmations are generally not sent between 10 pm and 7 am Central time. Orders are still received, but confirmations can be delayed.

Secondly- We have some online tools to assist you that you should check out. By logging in at www.blackriverimaging.com you can choose the Account Emails option to view any automatic emails sent to your email address on file. This listing includes email confirmations as well as emails alerting you of a declined credit card or other order errors and the emails that are sent when an album is approved and an order is invoiced. Should you find a notification of a credit card error, then please contact Customer Service with your customer number, the order error number and updated credit card information. There is no need to resend the order in these cases.  

Another helpful tool is the Check Order Status option. This will show you a listing of recent orders, which is divided by those still in lab and those that have invoiced. You may click on the invoice number for details of the order and then click on the tracking information link for a status update on shipments.  Note: When you fill in the "Photographer's Reference" section on the Review Order screen that entry will be listed here for easy identification of the order.

Thirdly- Check your ordering software to verify that the email you've entered doesn't have any typos in it, and be sure it is the same email address you use to complete your Customer Login on our web site. In the ROES programs you'll find this under "My Information" and in Sports Pix you'll find it under "Edit", "Edit Customer Information." If they don't match then that would cause an error but that would not be posted on your Account Emails or Check Order Status screens online. Please contact Customer Service as we can generally correct the order error without needing you to resend the order.  

Remember, if you need to update your email address on file you'll need to log in to the web site and choose Modify Profile, as well as changing the email in all ordering software you use with Black River Imaging.

Fourth- If you're ever in doubt, contact Customer Service. We can walk you through the possibilities of what has happened with your order and any errors in the software. There can be times where we will need you to resend the order.  Rarely would that require you to recreate the order as the software holds your order for a limited amount of time.
