6-Color Printing

With so many companies offering press printed services one has to find ways to distinguish a difference and weigh that against its value. We are introducing 6-color printing as an option for nearly all press printed products we offer. Let this printing method give you an edge over your competitors.

6-color printing does not enhance every image. You will see the biggest difference in how much smoother the gradation appears on skin tones, shadow areas and blue skies. The wider spectrum of colors and tighter printing pattern are just enough to give your images that edge.

Template Designer Dos & Don'ts

ROES contains a great little tool for creating unique layouts for prints and album pages.  It does have its quirks. Here are some Dos & Don'ts for those who like to use Template Designer.

Dos

1. When creating layouts in Template Designer where the nodes must line up precisely, don't be afraid to turn on the Grid by clicking "Show Grid." You can customize the grid measurement to get precisely the lineup you need.

2. "Snap to Grid" is also handy for aligning nodes in layouts where node alignment is crucial for a professional looking composite. Take advantage of this feature.

3. Zoom in on nodes to see if they are aligned and/or that you have your image placed precisely in a node. Simply double-click on the node and it will center and zoom in. To zoom back out simply double-click the node again.

4. If you draw an opening and decide not to use it, right-click on the node and remove it. If you merely move it off the canvas and forget about it, the system still looks for that node and wants to print it.

5. Check out the "Montage" feature. You can create any number of cool composites by adjusting the settings. To be able to move the nodes separately once you've created your montage click outside the template to deselect all the nodes and then click on the node you wish to move. Adjust all the nodes so that they are completely contained within the canvas.

Don'ts

1. Don't edit a saved template. Start a new template. There are issues with editing templates once they've been saved, e.g. moving nodes, removing and adding nodes, etc. Not all the changes made to a saved template seem to register causing the final product to appear scrambled.

2. Instead of using one of our pre-designed layouts and making a lot of changes to it, it's best to start a new layout from scratch. Once again, making a lot of changes to an exiting template just seems to wreak a bit of havoc with the system possibly producing an unrecognizable composite.

3. Mixing Template Designer options and the pre-existing composite options causes the aforementioned havoc, also.
