We would like to thank everyone who stopped by the big party to visit with us. Due to a fast moving front that came through Vegas the party was moved indoors to the Garden Arena and actually provided a better location. Certainly warmer for sure.
It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Our Mosaic Albums were a HUGE hit! So many people kept coming by to touch them and inquire about their prices.
Also... Congratulations to Dawn Shields for being the 2010 WPPI Album Grand Winner!
Each Year WPPI holds one of the most prestigious print and album
competitions in the world. Entries are submitted from every
continent. We were all very excited to attend the awards ceremony and
see one of our own very loyal fans, Dawn Shields, take home the highest
honor of the night for her incredible album entry. This was just a few hours after giving a standing room only platform class! Way to GO!!
Click this link to Dawn's website if you'd like to extend a congrats to her for this achievement.

 | Color Calibration... Till you're green in the face!
On a day when everyone is thinking about green (happy St. Patrick's Day) I thought it would be a great time to talk about color. Color is a tricky thing to judge. With the actions people use today and the special treatment given to an image through textures and color overlays, can one really say that a skin tone is correct or incorrect? This subjective quality becomes a real issue when printing for thousands of people who may all have a slightly differing idea on what is correct or accurate color.
It really comes down to having a good monitor for screen to print matching. If the print matches the image you are seeing on your monitor then you have a print that is correct. This also means that your monitor matches the environment in which your print is being viewed. In understanding the importance of screen to print match we can also begin to realize the importance of having the proper equipment necessary to make this screen to print match possible. The equipment needed to make this match happen in many ways is more important that what camera you shoot, what file format you capture in, and how you set the camera's white balance. It's certainly not an area you want to ignore or skimp on, yet I'm fairly confident that this area of the work flow gets ignored the most by many photographers.
Click here for detailed information about how to get a great screen to print match.
Oh, and I hope you've got your green on today!
Keep your finger on the button.
