There is an abundance of good food out there to eat as well as many that you should avoid at all costs. The best foods to put in your body are those that are homemade and not packaged. You get the most nutrition out of foods that are freshly prepared. Shop your local farmer's markets to get fresh produce each week. Stay on the outside of the grocery store and don't venture into the aisles....once you get into the aisles you will be more tempted to buy pre-packaged foods.
Prepare a menu on the weekend for the upcoming week. This will help you to decrease your snacking when you come home from work and are hungry.
Eat foods that are dark in color, like kale, swiss chard and broccoli. Eat a variety of colors of food (peppers, spinach, carrots, etc). Eat organic when possible.
We all know that we should eat breakfast because it is the most important meal of the day, right? Why? Well, if you are skipping breakfast you are making your adrenals work overtime. Adrenals are meant to deal with short-term stress and when you don't eat breakfast you stress them out! They have to put glucose (sugar) into the blood to keep your body happy...but it doesn't keep your adrenals happy. Eating breakfast really does kick your metabolism into high gear.
What should you eat for breakfast?
Skip the cereal! Eat protein for breakfast, like eggs, bacon (nitrate/nitrite free), ham, sprouted wheat bread with natural protein or even a high-quality
protein shake. It is important that you have protein with each meal, especially if you are eating carbohydrates. It is also important that you eat every two hours to keep your blood-sugar levels as even as possible.

You really are what you eat! If you put good food into your body, you will feel great in return. If you put garbage into your body, don't expect to feel good. It's just like putting diesel fuel into an unleaded tank....your car wouldn't run very well with the wrong kind of gas. Your body is exactly the same.
Make your body happy...eat good, wholesome food!
