June 2011
Did you miss us the last two months?  We didn't intend to take a hiatus from the newsletter, it just sort of turned out that way.  But now we're back and we're hoping to give you lots to make up for it in June!

First of all, we want to send our heart-felt prayers and thoughts to those of you who were affected by the recent tornadoes and damaging storms which swept across the South.  We have many personal friends and customers who were directly impacted and suffered great loss, including the death of one of Jeff's co-workers, Shirley.  So many lifes changed forever in a matter of seconds!  We hope those of you affected are beginning to see restoration where damage occurred.

We hope each of you have enjoyed the Spring thus far and have taken the heat-wave in stride.

More so than ever before...we encourage you to make a lot of memories this year, try a lot of "firsts" and do a lot of "repeats" of the things you enjoy - and start today!!

Come see us soon, we'd love to catch up on what's going on with you...

Happy Father's Day!

 Welcome Back "Baby Fern"
A big thank you to Angie and the children at Maury Middle School who housed and cared for our fern over the winter.
As you can see, they fed her well and lovingly named her, "Baby Fern."  She is quite the show-off as she has put on a lot of new growth - so much so that you can barely see the pot she calls home.

Featured Artist for June

Kay Alexander

  Kay-Scenic Shore

Kay has quickly become one of Dandridge's most favorite artists!  Her watercolor art is incredible in both technique and color.  She has a way of capturing the "story" behind every painting she creates.

We are so honored to carry her artwork here at The Red Door Gallery.  And we are proud to let you know about her upcoming exhibit in Knoxville.  If at all possible, please attend
and show her your support and admiration of her artwork.

The Exhibit will be at:
The Fountain City Art Center - 213 Hotel Avenue
From July 22nd through August 26th
Artists' Reception will be Friday, July 22nd
6:30 - 8:00 p.m.

Also, be looking for something special here at the gallery for Kay in September - more details coming soon!

You'll be so enthralled with this painting you'll want to step right into it spending the afternoon on the banks of the stream resting beneath the shade of the trees!

CLA-Berry Bowl

Featured Pottery Piece for May 2011:

Collins Lane Art-
Berry Bowl

This beautiful piece of pottery will see a lot of use on your kitchen counter this growing season with all the fresh fruits available!  It's the perfect compliment to those ripe, juicy berries picked straight from the vine.  Just give them a nice cool bath in the sink and place in the berry bowl with the saucer underneath to receive the drips as they dry and sit it right on the countertop...and watch them disappear!

(They will make great gifts for gardening dads and those summer brides, too!)

Gardening enthusiasts and gardening "want-to-be's" will love this fresh new painting.

Studio Logo

The Studio has been abuzz lately with some new changes.  We've done some rearranging to make our viewing sessions a little more comfortable and a lot more spectacular!  We're adding more new product lines and are doing some fun new things with frames specifically for the Studio.

We've been creating lots of new books with images for wedding guest books, birthday books, senior books and those ever-popular brag books.  And, we've been designing a lot of new invitations, announcements and cards too!

We've been doing what we love to do...creating beautiful images for our clients and turning them into lasting memories!

We would love to create some for you!

" We don't just take pictures...
We create memories!"

Fun Products From The Studio:

Our new custom designed books have quickly become such a hit with our clients that we thought we would share more information with you about them.  By combining great photos, wording, favorite quotes/poems, statistics, graphics and just about anything you can imagine we can design  a beautiful keepsake by way of a bound book.
We're thrilled to offer you a way to keep memories alive for years to come through these books.

Recent Example - For a wedding, we took childhood, family and engagement photos along with favorite poems, quotes and scriptures and created a one-of-a-kind heirloom for the happy couple.  Pages were designed with lines for guests' signatures along with pages for the couple to write and journal.

The possibilites are endless as to how these books can be used.  Here are a few ideas - (just a few):

Birthdays - any year and every year, but especially milestone years like, the First, Sweet 16, 21st, 30th, 50th, etc...
School Years - one for every year, or one for Kindergarten, one for Grade School, one for Middle School, one for High School
Senior/Graduation - Senior formal and casual photos, Cap/Gown photos, Friends, Accomplishments, Prom, clubs, jobs, trips, etc...
Wedding - as mentioned above
Trips & Vacations - keep the memories alive even after you've returned home!
Anniversaries - what a great way to commemorate a year in review!
New Baby - start from the day you found out the big news up until the day of birth and record that incredible 9-month journey!
Babies First Year - Relive those special moments year after year of how quickly those first 12-months went by and how much changed.
Businesses - keep a record of the year in business...accomplishments, achievements, awards, milestones, etc...

Like we said, these are just a few of the countless ways we can create and design books for you.  We would be delighted to show you a few ideas and creative ways to preserve your memories for years to come - and pass them on for generations.
