Greetings!
Happy February! As I am typing these words, I'm reflecting on the beautful weekend weather we just had. I think I can probably safely say that 99.9% of us are ready for those warmer sunny days! According to the four-legged prognosticator, Punxsutawney Phil, those spring days will be here before you know it. Sounds great, but we'll see...
Sports are top priorty on many minds these days too as we look forward to the SuperBowl (and the commercials) on February 6th. Just in case you didn't know...we're rooting for the Packers in our house! Jeff is thrilled his home-state team is headed to the big party.
As we all know, February brings with it the promises of those warmer days to come, but in the meantime...we've got the "love" holiday to get through first. And just for that special time...we've partnered up with our neighbors again and are planning something really fun for Friday, February 11th. (Please see below for full details.) |

Featured Artist for February:
Lois Armstrong

Lois has just brought us in this amazing piece of Scrimshaw work on a buffalo horn. It comes with the hand-crafted stand also. It is a gorgeous piece of artwork that you really need to see to fully appreciate.
Scrimshaw is an incredible artistic ability that is becoming a dying artform. Lois keeps this old method of art alive and current with the exquisite pieces she creates. You can see it in the form of jewelry designed on old piano keys and piano keys made exclusively for our gallery that are framed.
Of course, many of you know about the paintings Lois does on pressed leaves and her beautiful oils and watercolors. Please visit her pages on our website to see more of her incredible work. And, as always, we invite you to stop in and take a closer look.

Artwork of the Month ~ February 2011
This is absolutely one of our favorites by our artist friend, Don. It has a way of causing you to pause and think about the subject matter...putting yourself in her place and conjuring up all the things she must be pondering in her thoughts. Is she thinking about her past, her future, love found, love lost? Such a serene beauty caught up in her thoughts and memories!

We're in the process of making some changes to the Studio Website! We're adding a section of videos that we know you'll enjoy. And, we are in the process of adding photos and descriptions of new products available through the Studio including custom designed books and boxes. We've just gotten a great new background, have a few more on the way and have picked up some great hats and accessories at market!
We're thrilled at how we are beginning to branch out into other areas where we are offering more custom created and designed items (everything from wedding invitations to wedding guest books and business storybooks)! We're seeing an increase in businesses and corporations, who are looking for a fresh new image, seeking our services through photography and customized products. And, we're happy to be bringing a lot of old faded photos back to life through digital restoration.
During all these new additions we are still so thrilled to offer professional photo sessions in our studio and on location. It's what we love to do!! |
