Hello ASTPHND members!
What an exciting time for
public health nutrition! In addition to all the state work around ARRA
funding applications and all the national work around health care reform, we
want to bring to your attention some opportunities on Healthy People 2020 and childhood
hunger.
ASTPHND comments on Healthy People 2020
The draft HP2020 nutrition and weight status objectives and
all other draft HP2020 objectives are now posted here.
ASTPHND plans to comment on the proposed objectives relevant to public
health nutrition. If you would like to help with this work, please
contact Joan Atkinson.
USDA work on Ending Childhood Hunger
FNS has been hosting a series of Ending Childhood Hunger
listening sessions across the country in order to gather ideas as we work to create
a plan to end childhood hunger in the United States by 2015. We know that not
all interested parties were able to attend these sessions and we would like to
give everyone the opportunity to share comments, ideas and join in the
conversation. We invite stakeholders from many organizations including
State Governments, local program offices, professional organizations, private
industry and advocacy groups, as well as program participants, their families
and other interested parties to attend listening sessions across the country in
the coming months. Click here to view the schedule of webinar listening sessions and to register for the
sessions.
You may also submit written suggestions and comments here.
Thank you.
