Paint/Sketch Out: Windsor & Essex Plein Air Society Dieppe Gardens Friday, June 25th 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
This
event is organized by the Windsor & Essex Plein Air Society. The main
purpose of the Society is to provide a venue in which to paint. The
group is currently accepting new members. There is no charge to attend
an outing.
The hours are flexible as you can come earlier or leave later. Subjects include the Detroit skyline, Dieppe Gardens and various city scapes. Dress for the sun and bring sunscreen, bug repellent, snacks and water. You don't need paint as you can start out with pencils and a sketch pad, or even just your camera.

Leamington Tornado Benefit Concert Mick's Irish Pub 28 Chatham St. East Sunday, June 27th 3:00 PM
Mick's Irish Pub is having a benefit concert for the people affected by the tornado in Harrow and Leamington. Starting at 3:00 PM, a different band will play every hour until 10:00 PM, starting with Kelly Howell. The line-up includes local bands both Celtic and rock, including Jody Raffoul and Bob Gabriele! Tickets are $20 per adult and $12 for children and includes a buffet meal. All proceeds from the event going to registered charities in Leamington and Harrow.

The Storefront Residencies for Social Innovation 406, 410 & 425 Pelissier St. Through Sunday, July 11th
For 30 days, this project will call on over 25 different artists, writers, designers, restauranteurs, musicians, architects, archivists, and other interested parties to occupy a space in downtown Windsor for up to one month in June and July 2010 to attempt to intervene with the everyday realities of skyrocketing vacancy rates, failing economic strategies, and a place in need of new imagination.
