Windsor History...did you know?
That Windsor was the first Canadian terminal of the Underground Railroad. After the
War of 1812 and before the U.S. Civil War, escaped slaves from the south found
protection here under the British flag.
John Brown brought the first black slaves to Canada, arriving in Windsor
via the underground railway.

Windsor's musical scene with the Gallery's exhibits. A cash bar is available to
those so inclined, as well as an in-house studio workshop run by the AGW's
Education Public Programme Coordinator, Mary Anne VanWatteghem. As Fridays
Live! coincide with exhibition openings, there are often walkthrough tours with
the artist or curator. Docents are on hand to field questions about the
gallery or collection. Please come
