It's the Thought That Counts...and the Gift! by Dr. Gary Chapman
I've heard it and you've heard it. "It's the thought that counts." But, I remind you, it is not the thought left in your head that counts. It's the gift that came out of the thought in your head that counts.
Gifts come in all sizes, colors, and shapes. Some are expensive and some are free. To the person whose primary love language is receiving gifts, the cost of the gift will matter little, unless it is greatly out of line with what you can afford.
Gifts may be purchased, found, or made.
The husband who picks a wild flower has found himself an expression of love, unless, his wife is allergic to flowers.
For five dollars you can buy a nice card, or you can make one for free. Get the scrap paper out of the trash can where you work, fold it in the middle, cut out a heart, write "I love you", and sign your name.
Gifts need not be expensive.
A candy bar or even a mini-bar can bring a smile to the face of your spouse. It is truly the thought that counts.
