When Your Spouse Leaves, God Does Not by Dr. Gary Chapman
When your spouse walks out, you may feel totally abandoned. But such is not the case. God never leaves His children. The words of Jesus, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28), are directed to you.
Yes, you are weary from much stress. You are burdened perhaps with guilt, anger, hostility, and anxiety. You will notice that Jesus does not ask that you lay the burden aside and come to Him, but rather that you just come. He has promised to give rest. He has not asked you to handle your own problems, nor has He promised to take away the problems, but He has promised rest.
It is God's desire to share life with us, to help us find meaning and purpose in life, to help us with the problems we encounter.
In the midst of our pain it is sometimes difficult to believe that God could do anything for us. You may even be angry with God for allowing your spouse to treat you unfairly. But don't blame God for the sinful behavior of your spouse.
It is far better to seek God than to blame God.
