| Earthquake Update |
I am sure many of you have heard that commercial flights into Haiti have been canceled once again. We are told that it will be at least January 25th before we will have an opportunity to get our team and supplies into Haiti. We have been working steadily to come up with alternative transportation arrangements that would allow us to respond in a more timely manner. Several airlift possibilities are in the works, but there is nothing solid. We will not give up.....please pray.
I was able to talk with Dr. Morquette late yesterday and the message has not changed. The hospital is beyond capacity and without essential pharmaceutical supplies and medication. Dr. and Mrs. Alexander, who were on the third day of their first visit to Haiti when the earthquake occurred, are still at King's working along side Hubert, Junie and other staff providing as much care and comfort as possible. Unfortunately patients are having to enduring excruciating pain due to the lack of supplies. Many patients, with critical internal injuries, are simply lying and waiting for the anesthesia, antibiotics, and analgesic that will permit life-saving procedures to be performed.
We urgently need Orthopedic Surgeons and Anesthesiologist. Please help us get the word out and continue praying for the people of Haiti.
In Christ,
