 Replenish 2009 ... a call for action!

| Dear Friends of the ministry
It has been fourteen months since our last appeal for donations to fund our annual operating expenses. Your responses to that request, Replenish 2008, was generous and timely. Thanks to your faithfulness we survived what many describe as our nation's worst economic crisis in more than 50 years. We not only accomplished our objectives but positioned this ministry for greater impact in the years to come. Sadly, many like-minded organizations were not so fortunate and met their demise. To ensure our continuing viability we are issuing a call for action, Replenish 2009, to help us weather the financial challenges of the coming months.
Our goal for this year's appeal is to raise $75,000 to replenish our "rainy day" fund before September 30th. We realize reaching out to donors, though necessary, is not always the sole solution when faced with financial shortfalls. As committed stewards of God's resources we, too, have taken action and made some difficult cost-cutting decisions, but without immediate and significant gifts LMM's future success is questionable.
The facts are:
- We have eliminated two part-time employees in fourteen months
- We have reduced operating costs 26%; searching for more economies
- We have watched donations drop for the fourth straight year
- We have experienced a 23% decrease in income over the past 12 months
- Without immediate relief September will bring additional personnel cuts
Operating funds are the life blood of any ministry. Unlike many ministries we do not have foundations, churches, or civic organizations underwriting our operating expenses. Therefore, we depend on your donations as our primary source of revenue. Without your donations our ability to obtain essential supples and equipment, pay personnel and warehouse rent, fund container shipments and conduct fundraising to support our priority programs stands in jeopardy.

We are grateful for your faithfulness in standing with us over the years. Please pray for God to grant us wisdom as we partner together to further His work in Haiti. Thank you for your response to this call for action. Together we can make a difference!
