The 2011 Lake Cumberland Thunder Run (poker run) will be held at Grider Hill Marina & Resort June 24th and 25th.
This year, as in the past you can enter and run the Thunder Run in any style boat. We have also added a separate class for cruisers. You won't have to make the entire run and will be involved in the lunch stop, raft up party, free helicopter photo, dock party, entertainment, fireworks and more.
Friday, June 24th - Pre Registration Party with Bobby Denhart performing on the Grider Hill Party Deck Friday night followed by DJ Rilo behind the decks mixin your favorite songs until midnight.
Saturday, June 25th - Poker Run and the band Cover Model performing Saturday night with a fireworks show.

Safe Boating Class - May 14th, 2011
On Saturday, May 14th, members of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary will be teaching a Safe Boating Class at the Grider Hill Party Deck from 9 AM - 5 PM CST. The class covers trailering, safety gear, legal requirements, navigational rules and more "need to know" information to make you a safe boater. The cost is $10 per person and includes lunch.
The class will be taught from the Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Boating Safety Manual. At the end of the class there will be a test and a successful student will receive either a certificate of accomplishment or a pocket card issued by the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, which may be utilized by some insurance companies for a discount on their boating insurance and is also acceptable for a 12-17 year old to operate a motorized boat in Kentucky.
