Hello Grider Hill Family!!
I am so excited about the upcoming summer season!! I have met so many wonderful people and look forward to meeting a lot more at the May 2nd Meet & Greet Derby Day Lunch and by walking the dock this summer.
I can't tell you how happy and surprised we were at the response to the survey. First of all, thank you for taking the time to answer it. Also, the suggestions and recommendations were great! We are addressing these ASAP! One that stood out loud and clear was that we needed a place where people could gather to enjoy GHM - I agree!! So, we are building a 40X80 deck above the ship store. The view will be awesome and it's something we can all enjoy!
We are currently working on the wave break and will have it done by 4/15. The new 80 ft houseboat slips are done and so are the 30 ft slips. We have more projects scheduled that will benefit everybody!! The rooms have been refurbished and we will be starting the houseboats ASAP. This year the restaurant will be run by our own Gena Sasser and I am excited about her enthusiasm in that endeavor.
Please keep the suggestions coming. My goal for summer 2009 is to make sure GHM cares about you and your family!!

Lake Cumberland Grand Prix May 15th - 17th
 For the first time ever, Lake Cumberland welcomes the biggest and baddest in speed boat racing as the OSS racing series makes it's much anticipated debut to south central Kentucky! Covered by major media outlets like ESPN2 and Extreme Boats Magazine, come be a part of the biggest event of the year as the NASCAR attitude hits the waves of Lake Cumberland! The fun lasts all weekend long with spectacular parties, great local entertainment, autograph sessions with the drivers, not to mention the best in offshore racing with over 30 boats roaring by at speeds exceeding 150 miles per hour! You'll be part of the action too. Admission will get you access to Race Village where you can see these amazing boats up close and see how they are lowered into the water. You'll also get to meet all the drivers and race teams. Big name vendors and sponsors will be on hand as well as all kinds of Lake Cumberland Grand Prix merchandise. Restaurant Opens Friday April 3rd
 This year our very own Gena Sasser will be running the Restaurant at Grider Hill. Laura Ann will be returning to prepare all your favorite southern style meals along with her World Famous Mile High Peanut Butter Pie!
2 large screen TV's have also been placed in the Restaurant this year for your viewing pleasure!

New Slips, Party Deck & Wave Break for 2009
 Construction efforts on the new 12' 8" x 30' covered slips and the new 80' houseboat slips are almost complete. The new wave break should be completed by April 15th. Construction of the new Party Deck on top of the Ship Store continues as well.
