FTIP Trainers Announced

The Dispute Board Federation's FIDIC Contracts Total Immersion Programme is pleased to announce the trainers who have been selected for the February 20-27, 2010 programme in Luxembourg.  The trainers (in alphabetical order) are:

Brian Barr

Brian Barr, C.Eng. FICE, FIHT is on the FIDIC President's List and a Fellow of the Dispute Board Federation . He is also a Civil Engineer working on the improvement of infrastructure in developing countries. He has over 40 years of broad civil engineering experience working in UK, Eastern Europe, Africa, Central America, Caribbean and the Far East. Brian has extensive experience of FIDIC Contracts.



Cyril Chern 1

Dr Cyril Chern, BArch (Hon), Juris Doctor, is on the FIDIC President's List and also one its Assessors he is also a Barrister, Chartered Architect, Chartered Arbitrator, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Mediator and Adjudicator.  Additionally he is a Fellow and Secretary (Hon) of the Dispute Board Federation and author of "Chern on Dispute Boards" (Wiley-Blackwell Publishing, London 2007), "International Commercial Mediation" (Informa plc, London 2008), and "The Law of Construction Disputes" (Informa plc, London [2010).



Giovanni Di folco

Giovanni Di Folco is the Senior Partner of Techno Engineering & Associates, an International Consulting firm specialising in Claims and Dispute Resolution.  The company operates in the Balkans, Eastern Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.  Mr Di Folco is a multi-disciplined professional Civil Engineer and Adjudicator with over 30 years experience in heavy civil works construction and consulting and is an expert on FIDIC contracts and specialises in Forensic Delay Analysis.



Nicholas Gould

Nicholas Gould is a UK Solicitor and Partner at Fenwick Elliot.  He acts in a wide range of construction sectors in the UK and internationally, including general construction, transport, communications, industrial, process plant, petrochemical, and energy. He has also conducted Government funded research into construction dispute resolution, as well as acting as a mediator in construction, engineering and commercial disputes, and sitting as adjudicator on international Dispute Adjudication Boards. Nicholas is considered an expert on FIDIC Contracts.



John Papworth

John Papworth is on the FIDIC President's List, a Fellow of the Dispute Board Federation and the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and is a practising Dispute Board Member and Adjudicator, listed by FIDIC, DBF, and  the ICE. He is a Chartered Arbitrator and a Mediator. He has worked on oil and gas, infrastructure and power projects in the Middle and Far East, East Africa, the Caribbean and Europe and is considered an expert on FIDIC Contracts.


John Wright


John Wright is on the FIDIC President's List, a Fellow of the Dispute Board Federation and is joint head of the Construction and Engineering Group at the international law firm of Bird & Bird LLP. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and acts as an arbitrator, adjudicator and mediator, as well as advising construction clients on the whole range of domestic and international disputes for employers, contractors and professionals.
