WFA Employs Cost-Saving Measures How Does This Affect You
In most instances you won't notice the cost-saving measures Western Fairs Association has implemented. We are committed to providing you with the same level of membership benefits that you have always enjoyed. However, there are a few things you should know.
New Office Hours: The WFA offices will be officially closed on Fridays starting in August, as we try to visit more fairs. Make sure you call Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. And, you can always leave a message after hours.
On the phones: We no longer have an administrative assistant answering the phones, and we are reluctant to put our customers through the automated phone system. It's always nice to talk to a human, right? So if you call on Mondays you will be greeted by Meetings Manager Liz Waxstein; Accounting Manager Tami Triggs reigns on Tuesdays; Marketing Director Carrie Wright has deemed her day Wright Wednesdays; and Communications Manager Lori Hanley is in charge on Thursdays.
If you call during business hours and get the answering machine, it means that all lines are busy or we are in a meeting. Leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

You're Invited to a WFA Open House August 30 at the Oregon State Fair
Join us for a WFA Open House at the Oregon State Fair Tuesday, August 30 from 5-7 p.m. at the Floral Garden Area (just north of the green gate). Mingle with fair executives from fairs throughout the West, WFA staff members and other industry professionals. Catch up with old friends and meet new members in a relaxed environment with hors d'ourves and a no-host bar. Bring a nonmember (or two) and show them what WFA is all about.

Beware of Fair Guide Scam Company solicits members without WFA consent
As a member of Western Fairs Association, you may be contacted by Fair Guide, Expo-Guide or Construct Data Publishers about a free listing in a directory. We believe these companies are using misleading tactics to solicit members and others for listings in trade show and exhibition directories. Although the correspondence appears to request information for free listings, the printed document (when signed) is actually a three-year contract for the purchase of advertising space. Our directory forms were sent out in July and were mailed in an official WFA envelope with a letter from us on WFA letterhead. If you are not sure if you are filling out the correct form, please call Communications Manager Lori Hanley at (916) 927-3100.
