Executive Development Program Candidate

With the 2011 Executive Development Program, Colleen Marlow is transitioning from a career in performing arts administration to fair management. The program, administered yearly by Western Fairs Association, prepares candidates for a position in fair management.

Colleen is nearing the end of her first month in the program, currently stationed at Sonoma County Fair. She has attended numerous meetings in Sacramento on AB95, including the convening of the Joint Committee on Fairs at the State Capitol last month. She attended Ag Day at the Cloverdale Citrus Fair, worked the Kentucky Derby at the Jockey Club satellite wagering facility and is serving as the project manager for the Sonoma County Fair Cattle Drive through downtown Santa Rosa. In August, Colleen will move to Nevada County Fair to work with CEO Sandy Woods on the Draft Horse Classic and Country Christmas Faire events.

Colleen unabashedly holds 'having fun' as a core value and loves amusement parks, carnival midways and county fairs. She is a member of the National Amusement Park Historical Association and the International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions.

Colleen co-directed a stop-motion animation film entitled "The Houseplants' Picnic" that was entered into the 2010 Alameda County Fair and won zero awards.
