Mark Your Calendars for the Pima County Fair Open House
Celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Pima County Fair with a day of meetings and the Western Fairs Association Open House April 21 in Tuscon, Arizona. Join WFA President Don Delahoyde and Meetings Manager Liz Waxstein for the vendor breakfast at 9 a.m., followed by the Service Member Mixer at 9:30 a.m. and the WFA Open House from 6-8 p.m. in the Catina.

Introducing a New WFA Staff Member
As the newest Western Fairs Association staff member, Amy Wunder will work as a marketing assistant and help launch the 2011 California Statewide Marketing campaign, conducted by the California State Fair with assistance from WFA. "The fair industry has always been my passion and I am thrilled to be working for WFA on such an exciting campaign," says Wunder. She is a graduate from California State University of Sacramento and has a bachelor's degree in communications with a concentration in public relations. She was born and raised in Woodland, California and has worked in the fair industry for eight years. "We are looking forward to utilizing Amy's skills during the next year as we help produce the only statewide marketing campaign to take place during my tenure," says Executive Director Stephen Chambers. Look for an overview of this exciting plan in the next issue of the Fair Dealer, due out in April.

Advocacy: Executive Director Stephen Chambers and the WFA legislative team is hard at work combating the California Governor's proposed 100 percent elimination of fair funding. Stay apprised of the situation and read the latest news links on the California Fairs Alliance page of our website.
Education: Marketing Director Carrie Wright is putting the final touches on the training opportunities for the FAST conference and is developing the Consumer Protection Program and New CEO Resource Binder.
Publications: Communications Manager Lori Hanley is currently working on the spring issue of the Fair Dealer. Look for it in the mail in early April.
Meetings: Meetings Manager Liz Waxstein is busy tying up all the loose ends for the FAST conference and the Pima County Fair Open House.
