What is WFA Doing in October?
As fair season slowly winds down, the staff at WFA turns its full attention toward educational training, the annual Convention and Trade Show, the Date List and Membership Directory as well as many other projects.
Convention and Trade Show--The fall issue of the Fair Dealer magazine, that contains the Convention Event Guide, went to the printer on Friday. You should receive your copy in the mail by the end of October. Make sure to read it carefully as there are new events and special promotions inside! Don't want to wait for the Fair Dealer? Check out the Convention website for details. More information will be up later this week, so check back often.
Date List and Membership Directory--Our goal for the Membership Directory is 100 percent accuracy; however, we depend on you to report changes to your listing information. Service Members need to have dues paid and update forms returned by October 31 to guarantee a place in this vital publication. Fairs will receive update forms early next week and the information is due by November 15. If you have any questions about the forms, please email Communications Manager Lori Hanley at lorih@fairsnet.org.
Fall Manager's Conference--Meetings Manager Liz Waxstein and Marketing Director Carrie Wright are putting the finishing touches on the Fall Manager's Conference. Book your room and register by October 19 to get the best rates.
Showcase--As the October 25 Showcase deadline approaches, Liz Waxstein is preparing applications for viewing. Make sure to get those applications in on time to be considered!
The team at WFA is also working on selling Trade Show and advertising space, the spring FAST Conference, our IAFE Trade Show presence, the WFA Board Planning Session in November, the Huell Howser rollout, a Regulation and Compliance Handbook for Service Members, Exhibit in a Box 200th Celebration, the 2012 Convention and Trade Show and keeping a watchful eye on the legislature. Phewwwww... we're busy!
