Greetings!

 

On Sunday, March 18, during Youth Group from 5:30 - 7:30pm, parents and youth are invited to hear guest speaker, Jo Abney of Professional Recovery Counseling.  
 

What about alcohol and drugs? Most teens don't want to talk about it and some parents prefer to believe that their kids aren't really affected by it.

 

Jo will be here to give some real information about drug and alcohol abuse. She will answer your questions and facilitate meaningful conversation about an often difficult issue.

 

Parents and students will meet together for the first part of the evening and then break off into Parent Group and Teen Group for questions.

 

Ms. Abney has asked two special people to join her for this presentation; a parent who has lost a child to drug abuse and a young woman who was able to rise above her very serious addiction.

Our Silent & Service Auction has begun!  Look for great items and place your bids on Sundays, March 11 & 18.  Auction donations are still welcome, please contact Michelle Burton via e-mail if you have an item or a service to donate to our auction.

 

Adult and youth volunteers can sign up to help at the event by e-mailing Michelle Burton, or sign up during Sunday School or Youth Group during the next few weeks.

 

If you would like to assist with decorations for the event, please e-mail Kelly Edwards.

 

Talent Show sign up deadline is March 18.  We need acts of all kinds!  Please sign up online or e-mail Allison Neal.

Temptation is all around us and we glorify God by "just saying no" to things that we know are wrong, bad for us, or sinful.  Can you be strong in the face of temptation?  Draw your strength from God....He is always with you!
