Greetings!
The APC Harvest Food Drive is coming to an end this week; and what a success it has been. Once again our congregation has shown its generosity, this time by giving hundreds and hundreds of food items for those in need.
Our children are so blessed to have an abundance of food at their fingertips. They eat three meals a day, they can forage through the kitchen pantry or refrigerator at any time if they "just feel like eating something" and they have money to put into vending machines or spend at restaurants whenever they'd like to.
Could they ever imagine what it would be like if food were a luxury item instead of an afterthought? This Sunday at youth group, we'll ask our middle and high schoolers to do just that.
We're going to share a powerful exercise with them called "Food for Thought" in which they will put themselves into the shoes of a person with limited means. They will be given a nominal sum and asked to shop for groceries for their "family."
It will be a chance for them to make choices about what they would eat if food were not easily affordable. It will be a chance for them to recognize how blessed they truly are. It will be a chance for them to spend their dinner money on food that will be shared with the needy.
Please encourage your child to join us for Food for Thought on Sunday evening. I guarantee that this experience will change the meaning of Thanksgiving.
In Christ,
Kelly Edwards, Director of Youth Ministries |

onnecting at Youth Group
Church isn't always about worshiping God in a solemn, prayerful setting. Sometimes it's about coming together for fellowship and fun to celebrate our common faith. Sunday night Youth Group is designed to help our middle and high schoolers connect with each other and with Christ by participating in non-worship activities. We are helping our youth develop a foundation of faith and a group of friends that will last a lifetime.

CAMP HOPE
Traditionally at APC, youth mission trips are funded in thirds. One third of the cost is paid by APC, one third of the cost is paid by the participant and one third of the cost is raised through fundraising efforts. Youth who wish to attend a mission trip must assist with our Youth Fundraiser on Saturday, March 10 to qualify for the 1/3 fundraising discount on their trip.
Mission Giving Opportunity:
kidz2leaders, inc. is a Marietta-based ministry that works with prisoners' children in the metro-Atlanta area.
Children are introduced to the ministry by attending a one-week summer camp, Camp Hope and then participate in year-round programming.
This year, kidz2leaders is looking for individuals and families to sponsor a Camp Hope family's Christmas dinner by donating $50. Contributions will provide our Camp Hope families with a $50 Kroger gift certificate that will be given to them at the annual hope4christmas party.
Donations can be made to kidz2leaders, inc. and mailed to 4385 Lower Roswell Road, Marietta, GA 30068 or online. Summer Mission Trips |

Sunday School for Middle & High School
We encourage all youth to attend Sunday School on Sunday morning from 9:45 - 10:45 am. Our Sunday School classes meet in the upstairs youth area of the education building.
We're excited to report that the Middle School class for 6th and 7th graders has gotten so big that they had to move to the Youth Lounge. Come join us and make some new friends at APC!
