MSG and it's Link to Obesity: There is growing evidence and information supporting the idea that MSG is directly linked to obesity. Can you imagine that mice and rats are given large doses of MSG in order to make them obese so that they can be used in diet and diabetes test studies? MSG triples the amount of insulin secreted by the pancreas amongst a long list of other bad things. There are over 25 code names to hide MSG in processed foods like "natural flavoring" and "natural meat tenderizer". MSG is used in just about everything from your starbucks coffee flavoring to hamburger helper. Not only does MSG make you fat but it is addicitve too. Betcha can't eat just one brings on a whole new meaning once you know this. MSG was introduced into the American food supply about 50 years ago - funny how all of the metabolic syndrome related conditions have dramatically risen since then. There are many other poisons in our foods. MSG is one that you must be aware of as it is even in your baby's formula. it's cazy but true. Keep an eye out for the deadly MSG and avoid it when possible.
