The Bridge
End of Summer Picnic and Baptisms

picnicWe're having a pot luck picnic 2pm August 22, to celebrate the end of another great summer!  We'll be at the DeKryger's house on Minor Lake so there will be swimming for the kids (and adults) and other fun yard games, a trampoline, and swing set complements of the DeKrygers.

We may even see if Fat Mike's BBQ might be willing to cater with some of his pulled pork sandwiches...we'll let you know in the next week or so.

Also, while we're there, we'll celebrate with some more baptisms so if you're interested in getting baptized please get a hold of me at    roger@thebridgeinallegan.com.

5th Sunday - August 29

backpacks
For our upcoming 5th Sunday we are going to provide backpacks filled with school supplies for elementary kids in Allegan.

The Bridge will provide the backpacks and we are asking Bridge folks to provide the school supplies.  In the next couple of weeks we will have a list of the supplies that each student needs for this upcoming school year.  We'll also have goodie bags with some baked goods for the families of the kids and, hopefully, some children's medicines provided by Perrigo.

In addition, we would like to provide the elementary teachers with kleenex, hand sanitizer, etc. for their classrooms.

PLEASE NOTE: This 5th Sunday we will be meeting at ALLEGAN HIGH SCHOOL (NOT at the Bridge Building) at 9am to sort the supplies and pack the backpacks and then we will go out in groups to deliver them.

Please continue to pray for Scott Marsh, Michele Bird's brother, who continues to battle a very aggressive form of cancer.

Pray for the prosperity and growth of Allegan.

Pray for the Spirit of God to open our eyes to the people around us who need to know that Jesus loves them.

What is the Bridge?

The Bridge is a church in Allegan, Michigan that is for the beaten-up, the burned-out, and the just plain bored. If you spend time with us, you will hear that a lot - it is a central idea of how we want to interact with the community around us.

We want to be a place that reflects the love of Jesus.  Everyone is welcome, with no prerequisites of church background or prior belief.  Bring your faith and your doubt, your joy and your tears, your praise and your selfishness. We're not perfect, but we'll love you as best as we can.
