"...the eunuch said, "Look! There's some water! Why can't I be baptized?"*38 He ordered the carriage to stop, and they went down into the water, and Philip baptized him."
What is the deal with baptism? Jesus said we should do it, but how?
Do we sprinkle? Do we dunk? Is it babies? Or only believers? Or both? Do we "re-baptize"?
We'll discuss all of these issues and maybe even answer the question of why Luke would choose to put this story of an Ethiopian eunuch in Acts at all.

| Rejected at NazarethSunday, February 21
Lesson #4 Bible Basis:Luke 4:14-30; John 4:43-45
Key Concept: Jesus wants us to be confident even when we are rejected.
Bible Verse: "When we trust in Him, we're free to say whatever needs to be
said, bold to go wherever we need to go." Ephesians 3:12 (MSG)
Know What (LG): Children will hear the story of when Jesus returned to His
hometown of Nazareth and was rejected by the people there.
So What (LG): Children will learn that Jesus was confident even when He was
rejected.
Now What (TT): Children will identify times they feel unaccepted, and discuss
truths from the Bible about who they are as God's creations.
Spiritual Formation: Confidence

| I'd like to invite you to my blog "...and there's nothing you can do about it". It consists of my ramblings on some random things, some funny things, hopefully some profound things... and also mp3's of the Sunday messages from the Bridge. Check back to it often and make sure to add your own comments and questions - they may give me more ideas for things to write about.

 | Vanguard Ministries Edison Neighborhood, Kalamazoo
| Through prayer and discussion, God has led the Bridge Leadership Team to support the wonderful work going on at Vanguard Ministries in the hurting Edison neighborhood in Kalamazoo!
Read about their ministry below and visit their web site (vanguardstreetministry.org) to find out more.
Supporting Vanguard is just another way for the Bridge to partner with other churches to fulfill our mission to reach southwest Michigan for the Kingdom of God.
_________________________ Mission of Vanguard
Vanguard Ministries seeks to connect the broken people of inner city neighborhoods with area agencies and
ministries through an aggressive program of street ministry in an effort to restore them to wholeness in
spirit, soul and body.
How will we do this?
1. Searching for the broken through a strategic approach to street ministry.
Know the neighborhood-work every street and at different times.
Find "hot spots" and place ministers there at the same time and same place.
Develop a relationship based on trust, respect and unconditional love.
2. Connecting the broken with a mentor who can connect them with the appropriate area ministry or agency.
Partner with area churches to provide spiritual support, mentors & small group leaders.
Partners with area agencies in order to meet physical and emotional needs.
Partner with businesses to provide jobs and job training.
3. Walking with the broken until they are fully restored.

 | 'Old Friends' are together again with Allegan Community Players February 19th- 20th @ 7pm February 21st @ 2pm
|
Three larger than life characters will perform with the Allegan
Community Players at the "Old Friends Together Again" show. The Allegan
Community Players, the longest continuously running community theater
group in Michigan, is teaming up with Giant Dreams Studio of Allegan
for the performance. The Old Friends are three giant "little
old ladies," that stand between eight and ten feet tall, created of
recycled materials. The characters, created by Teresa Myers of Giant
Dreams Studio, have won awards, been featured in parades throughout
Western Michigan and have appeared as the star attraction at many
seminars and celebrations. Allegan Community Players actors Dylan Otto,
Krista Kenniston and Gloria Kenniston will portray the three Old
Friends, with voices provided by Holland, Teresa Myers and Valarie
Emmons. The huge puppet characters, Mz. Lizzie, Joyce and
Sheila, will talk about their latest adventures. While Mz. Lizzie has
been surfing the Internet, Joyce has discovered using beer to eliminate
slugs in her garden, letting them "Drink their way to heaven." And
Shelia asks the question, "What does it mean when Mercury is in
Gatorade?" The madcap octogenarians will engage in shenanigans
at 7 p.m., Feb. 19 and 20, and 2 p.m., Feb. 21 at the Allegan High
School Performing Arts Center, 1560 M-40, in Allegan. For ticket
information, call (269) 216-9088.

 | prayer
|

Colossians 4v.2-6 2Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3And
pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we
may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.
4Pray that I may proclaim it clearly, as I should.
5Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.
~Roger
