group
You don't need to have it all together to come to the Bridge.  It's OK to just check things out.  Bring your beliefs, your doubts and your questions.

You are welcome here.

_______________

this sunday

Acts 8v.1-25

A man named Simon, who had been a sorcerer, believed in Jesus and was baptized but that didn't mean that he suddenly had it all together.

In fact, Peter said to him:

"...your heart is not right with God.22 Repent of your wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive your evil thoughts,23 for I can see that you are full of bitter jealousy and are held captive by sin."

Yikes!  That's pretty brutal, but it reveals to us that even after we've trusted in Jesus we might have some big work to do to get rid of the JUNK in our lives.

This week we'll talk about sin in the lives of the followers of Jesus and what we can to about it.

Walking on Water

Sunday, February 7
Lesson #2

Bible Basis: Matthew 14v.22-33; Mark 6v.45-52; John 6v.16-21
Key Concept: Jesus cando anything and wants us to trust Him.
Bible Verse: " 'I can do everything through Him who gives me strength" Philippians 4:13

KNOW WHAT: Children will hear the story of when Jesus and Peter walked on water.

SO WHAT: Children will learn that Jesus can do anything.

NOW WHAT: Children will discuss times when it is hard to trust Jesus and ways they can respond.

Spiritual Formation: Trust

A "Thank You" from Bob Hill

Anna Andrus got this Thank You from Bob Hill, one of our Bridge folks serving in the U.S. Army in Iraq, for a care package some of our people sent to him:

Dear Bridge Folks,
Thank you so much for these packages. I have enjoyed getting them over the last several days.  It is good knowing I have people like you back at home thinking of me.  The spices and drink mixes will be nice on my next rotation out to F.O.B. Gary Owen. (Rachel can fill you in on that "wonderful" place.)  Anyway, Thank you very much. We appreciate it. Thinking of you often,
SGT Bob Hill

Please keep praying for Bob and the Hill family as he serves.

A "Thank You" from Love INC
Love Inc Logo

We received a Thank You note from one of the places that Bridge folks served during our 5th Sunday last week:

The Bridge Church,

A big thank you for everything you did at the Love INC resale store "Heart to Heart".  We appreciate it so much.  And for everything you do for the City of Allegan and the surrounding areas.  You win the hearts of people one by one through your kind acts of love and kindness thru Christ.

Thank you again,
Deb

Great job, everyone!  Thanks to all who came and served last Sunday.  I truly believe that Deb is right; that we can win the hearts of the hurting people of Allegan through our acts of love and kindness through Christ.

Keep up the great work!

volunteer opportunity!

I am the new Activities Director at Briarwood Assisted Living here in town.  If you are interested in volunteer opportunities the residents love having people come in and sing, play music, visit, play games.

If you have a talent and would like to volunteer a little time let me know.  We could even schedule another group for our next 5th Sunday.  Volunteers do have to meet with me and the facility administrator before volunteering.

For more information contact me at: anna.j.andrus@gmail.com or see me on Sunday morning.

prayer

prayer 1

Please pray for Sabrina Thomas' grandmother who just had surgery and is still in the hospital.  Pray for her health and healing and also for the Sabrina and her family.

~Roger

Please continue to pray this passage with me:

Colossians 4v.2-6

2Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.

4Pray that I may proclaim it clearly,
as I should.

5Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

~Roger
