Lesson #2

Bible Basis: Matthew 14v.22-33; Mark 6v.45-52; John 6v.16-21
Key Concept: Jesus cando anything and wants us to trust Him.
Bible Verse: " 'I can do everything through Him who gives me strength" Philippians 4:13

KNOW WHAT: Children will hear the story of when Jesus and Peter walked on water.

SO WHAT: Children will learn that Jesus can do anything.

NOW WHAT: Children will discuss times when it is hard to trust Jesus and ways they can respond.

DON'T FORGET

This Sunday, January 31, is our next 5th Sunday.

That means that we will not meet for our usual worship time at 10:30am, but will meet at 9am to worship God by serving in Allegan.

We will meet at 9am at the Bridge Building, 141 Riverfront Plaza, which is near the gazebo downtown.

We will be at several different locations including: Silvia's Place, Love Inc.'s new second hand store, helping a single mom move, possibly visiting some folks at a nursing home, handing out donuts and orange juice around town, etc.

Plan on wearing your work clothes and getting a little dirty.

See you Sunday!

Can you believe it???

The Bridge will officially turn 1 year old on February 8.  Where has the time gone?

Thanks to everyone who gave, prayed, and served in order to make the Bridge's first year of existence such a great one!

The second annual Bridge Super Bowl party at Mike Villar's house will take place, surprisingly enough, on Super Bowl Sunday at 5pm.

Mike is making his famous pulled pork sandwiches and the rest of us can bring:
  • drinks
  • desserts
  • or appetizers
If you are definitely coming, please let us know!

movie: to save a life
Rated PG-13

to save a life

M-89 Cinema
9:30am  12:30  3:15  6:05  8:40pm

Can a movie change the world? No, but a person who sees it can.

TO SAVE A LIFE is more than a movie. It's the difference you can make when you use your influence and time for others - in your family, neighborhood, campus, community, or world. Some people are just dying to be heard and accepted. Imagine if we took the time to show people they have value. Listen. Reach out. Engage. TO SAVE A LIFE dares - no, inspires - you to.

TO SAVE A LIFE is a cool movie. But it's only a movie. You can change the world.

prayer

prayer 1

This is my prayer for myself and for you all.  I'd ask that you'd make it yours, too:

Colossians 4v.2-6
2Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. 3And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains.

4Pray that I may proclaim it clearly,
as I should.

5Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. 6Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

~Roger
