Grove City UMC Dream Comes True in Vietnam  by Rev. Dennis Miller
In 2010, the leaders of Grove City UMC dreamed of building a United Methodist local church building in Vietnam. Two years later the dream has become a reality! The name of the church is Habau United Methodist Church and it is located in the central highlands of Vietnam. Over 1000 people are part of this congregation....most sitting on the floor during worship.  [more]
Maternal Health Advocacy Training

With the generous support of the United Nations Foundation, the Healthy Families, Healthy Planet project will sponsor an advocacy training this fall. The purpose of this training is to bring together people of faith from across the U.S. to respond to the global tragedy of maternal mortality through education and advocacy. The training will occur September 26-28, 2012 in Columbus, OH. The United Methodist Women of West Ohio are key partners in these efforts.

Given the difficulties of the current economy, the Healthy Families, Healthy Planet project will cover all costs (transportation, lodging, meals, materials, etc.) for those selected to attend. More information and the application are available at umchealthyfamilies.org. Applications are due by July 15th, 2012!

His hospital experience became a profound opportunity to answer the call of God in his life to become a doctor and fight against the diseases of poverty that plagued his community.  [more]
