Parishioners of Maple Grove UMC, friends and family have joined together to support UMC Pastor Bill Croy, his wife of 41 years, Dorothy and their family. Bill is living with ALS and stepped down from the pulpit at Maple Grove a year ago. Since then he and "Bill's Backer's" as they call themselves have been working hard to fight this disease. West and East Ohio Archival Reading Room Dedication |
Since the merger of the West and East Ohio Conference archival collections in 2003, we have been dreaming about the construction of a dedicated space where researchers could use materials from the Archives of Ohio United Methodism. The L.A. Beeghly Family Special Collections Reading Room on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University will be a space for users of the Special Collections department of the library, including the Archives of Ohio United Methodism. The line was long, and the afternoon sun could only be described as brutal. But when Virginia Morgan at last sat down and took stock of her goods, she smiled.
Morgan was among more than 450 people who turned out in September for a special harvest-season offering at the Crossroads UMC food pantry. Instead of the typical pantry mix - some fresh items, more canned and boxed - the event operated as a free farmers market. [more] |

The United Methodist Church is among organizations that sponsored a new resource on immigration issues, addressing them from a faith perspective.
The Colorado Council of Churches prepared the DVD-based curriculum, "Who Is My Neighbor? A Faith Discussion on Immigration." The curriculum offers segments of filmed interviews, facts and figures interspersed with class activities and discussion. [more] |
