Summer Internships for College Undergraduates
interns

Commissioning of 2010 Interns

Over the last four years, 40 undergraduates have explored a call in ordained or vocational ministry as a West Ohio summer intern, thanks to the underwriting of individuals and congregations. If you are an undergraduate member of a local UM church considering ministry, apply for this 12 week leadership experience in a West Ohio local church. Local churches wishing to host interns may also apply. [application and details]

Sometimes God's plan comes with delayed flights

volunteersTen volunteers from Indian Run United Methodist Church planned to spend a week in Haiti, helping to rebuild a church and bring cheer to local children. But when their flight was canceled, this church group from West Ohio ended up staying a few days longer, making the most of their experience by hearing testimonies of faith from earthquake survivors they would not have met otherwise. [read more about their experience]

Newly renovated church to open doors to community events
maplestFrom the outside, the size of Maple Street United Methodist Church in West Ohio can be deceiving to the casual passerby. It isn't until one walks through the doors that it becomes clear just how much space -- about 30,000 square feet and three floors worth -- lies within the newly renovated church. It's all space the church leadership and congregation plan to fill with programs, classes, lessons, ministries and more. [more]
NEW! Online Welcoming Certification Process

Online at United Methodist Communications is the new process for new and renewing welcoming certified congregations. Instead of the "paper and pen" process that has been used over the last 10 years, everything has been moved online. Complete details about both the new and renewing certification online forums and processes is available at the Welcoming Certification webpage.
