New appointments announced |
Bishop Bruce R. Ough has announced two new appointments:
Rev. Wade E. Giffin will become the new Director of the Office of Ministry for the West Ohio Conference, effective July 1, 2009. Giffin will follow the Rev. L. Cean Wilson who is retiring September 30, 2009 after 11 years of service.
 Rev. Christopher Heckaman will become the new Miami Valley District Superintendent, effective July 1, 2009. Heckaman will follow the Rev. Duane Anders who has served as district superintendent since 2002. [more] |

Assistant General Secretary for International Disaster Response, Melissa Crutchfield will be in the West Ohio Conference February 22-23, 2009. She is responsible for coordinating UMCOR's emergency response globally. General Board of Discipleship leader to visit West Ohio |
The West Ohio Conference Next Generations Leadership Lead Team is sponsoring Mike Ratliff, Associate General Secretary of the Division on Ministries with Young People at the General Board of Discipleship (GBOD) to speak in West Ohio from February 25-27 at Ohio Northern University, Methesco and United Theological Seminaries. The focus will be on local church youth ministry for pastors, lay people and adult youth workers. [details] |

Association of Professional Chaplains award |
 The Association of Professional Chaplains has awarded their Distinguished Service Award to Chaplain Paul Yeun. Chaplain Yeun was ordained an elder in the United Methodist Church in 1973 and served parishes in the West Ohio area for 10 years before becoming an Air Force chaplain. The award is given to any individual and/or organization who either has exemplified or promoted the standards of professional chaplaincy. [more] |
