MILITARY CHAPLAINS EXTEND CHURCH'S GLOBAL OUTREACH

ChaplainsWhile most military attention in the United States focuses on conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, thousands of young men and women serve in other dangerous and lonely places.  Overall, 339 United Methodist pastors, serve as chaplains in every branch of the U.S. military worldwide-139 on active duty and 200 in the Reserves and National Guard.

Funds for these chaplains come from apportionment dollars - enabling United Methodists to do together what no church, district or annual conference could do alone.

WEST OHIO CONFERENCE RESIDENCY PROGRAM

Residency PhoneThe West Ohio Conference Residency program is an opportunity for a person to serve the first two years of their post-seminary ministry as an associate pastor alongside an experienced pastor who is demonstrating local church leadership skills in a healthy congregation. CONFERENCE & DISTRICT OFFICES EXPERIENCE EMAIL SHUTDOWN

Please forgive the conference and district staffs if they haven't returned your email this week.  The email system that the West Ohio Conference and District staffs share was shut down earlier this week when a virus was discovered in its email system.  As a precaution, all email to and from the conference server (which includes most district office email systems) is now blocked until the situation is resolved.

DIGITAL TELEVISION CONVERSIONWOSU

WOSU is asking you to consider taking a minute of your time to help the most at-risk elderly in Columbus make the transition to digital television. WOSU has developed a special outreach program so shut-ins and other elderly can continue to receive WOSU TV and other local channels after the mandatory shutdown of analog TV next February.
