This past
year your generosity has meant a world of difference.
In 2008, thanks to you, Austin Habitat served more than 300 hard-working, low-income Austin families with our home ownership, home repair and financial literacy programs. Our construction team
started the last houses in the Frontier Valley neighborhood in the Montopolis
area and the first houses in our newest community--Devonshire Village in East
Austin. We were blessed to receive a $300,000 grant from the Meredith Fund of
the Austin Community Foundation and the Entrepreneur's Foundation of Central
Texas to help revitalize East Austin's historic and culturally-rich Chestnut
neighborhood.
Next year, we will begin work in Chestnut, performing
interior and exterior repairs to homes of long-time residents so they may remain
in the neighborhood. We will start 25 new Habitat homes and will reach many more
low-income Austin residents with our home repair and credit counseling programs.
This holiday season, give a
gift with meaning by giving to Austin Habitat. To learn more, watch the Change Lives Video and then consider
giving one of these meaningful gifts:
Now more
than ever, we need your help to make sure everyone has a simple, decent and
affordable place to live in Austin.Your gift will give someone a chance to finally own their own home and break the cycle
of poverty.
