| A Note from the Chairs

Dear HYPsters,
Change is good.
In just the past couple of weeks, we have enjoyed the change of
season as the first leaves fall and there's a crisp burst of energy in the
air.
We feel the excitement and anticipation for what is possibly the most
important election of our lifetime as we prepare for a Presidential
change of office. We can't help but for our spirits to be lifted as we
cheer our Longhorn home team into a 1st place change of rank.
And after a monumental 2nd year full of HYP's hard work, big hearts and
bigger successes, we look forward to an even better 2009 as we escort in a
change in HYP leadership.
Anyone who has been to Austin Habitat's new web or has followed the real life stories of local Habitat families through
our new film... anyone who attended
October's first annual The Build luncheon and heard new homeowner,
Charlotte Rodriguez, speak from the heart with her Poem called
"Wishes"... and anyone who witnessed the excitement as the Verdin family "cut
the board" at our first house dedication on October 4th, knows
that the BEST kind of change is changing lives.
This is our theme... this is our goal, for 2009 and beyond. We set records
last year by being the first Habitat Young Professionals group to fully fund a
build project. With our goals set high again, we look forward to working with
you to make a positive impact in our community.
Along with continuing to increase and retain our membership, serving as
advocates for the mission of Habitat for Humanity, our main goal is to enhance
the HYP membership experience. The best way that we can do this is through your
feedback on what you want to see and do more of. Remember, change is good - and
suggestions for positive internal change are welcome. Please contact us or any
of the other leadership on how this organization can continue to serve and
prosper.
TOGETHER WE CAN CHANGE LIVES.
We can't wait to make a change with you.
