Nation's First-Ever Habitat Young Professionals House to be Dedicated in Austin
AUSTIN, Texas (October 4, 2008) - On Saturday, October 4, 2008, at 11 a.m., the first-ever fully sponsored Habitat Young Professionals (HYP) house in United States history will be dedicated in Austin's Colony.

Following a successful 2008 HYP Gala at the Long Center, which raised over $74,000 to support Austin Habitat for Humanity, Austin HYP volunteered their time to build a home hand-in-hand with the Verdin-Beatty family.

At Saturday's dedication, house keys will be passed to the Verdin-Beatty family, who have worked for approximately 18 months to realize their dream of owning a home.
