With Ironman 70.3 Calgary a mere 2 weeks away, this is the time for many of you to start tapering for the event. Tapering in short is a marked reduction in your training volume while maintaining the frequency and specific race intensity over that time period.  Do not cram more volume or overly intensive training in during this period as it will not benefit you at all for the upcoming race.........

8:00 p.m. - Expo and package pick up close

9:00 a.m. - BlueSeventy Open Water Swim Clinic with Jon Bird
9:00 a.m.- Bike and T2 Bag drop off begins at Ghost Reservoir (T1)
9:00 a.m.- Expo and package pick up begins at Hyatt
11:00 a.m. - Athlete Question and Answer Session
1:00 p.m.- Expo and package pick up closes
5:00 p.m.- Bike drop off closes

5:00 a.m.- Bus transportation to Ghost Reservoir begins from the Hyatt and Grey Eagle Casino Buses will depart every 15 minutes until 6:00.
7:00 a.m.- Pro Start
7:15 a.m. - Transition 1 closes
7:15 a.m.- First wave of Age-Group athletes
12:00 pm - 4:00 pm bike and gear bag pick-up
3:30 p.m.- Awards ceremony
4:00 p.m. - 70.3 World Championship and Ironman Canada Qualifying Spots
5:00 pm - Last bus back to Hyatt and Bus to Cochrane and Ghost Lake

Notes:
  1. Bike mechanical tuning will be available all week at SpeedTheory.
  2. Buses will be available all day Saturday for athletes without their own transportation to bike drop off. These buses will depart from the Hyatt. Please check the info desk at registration for schedules.
  3. BlueSeventy will be demoing Wetsuits at Ghost Lake on Saturday
  4. Additional bus pick up locations (e.g. McMahon) will be provided if there is sufficient interest. 
  5. Lost and Found items should be picked up at T2 after the race or Monday 9:00 - 10:00am at the Hyatt)

Come out to Ghost Lake on the morning of Saturday July 28th at 9:00 a.m. for a swim clinic brought to you by BlueSeventy and led by Triathlon Swim Specialist Jon Bird. Learn a few tips for race day and maybe try out a demo wetsuit from BlueSeventy.

Power Bar Perform, GU Gels and Bonk Breaker Bars 

 

Ironman Perform PowerBar - Our hydration sponsor will be providing PowerBar Ironman Perform at every aid station on the Bike and Run.     

 

At the run aid stations there will be GU gels.
