Artist Spotlight: Stevie Nicks

Enjoy music from legendary singer/songwriter Stevie Nicks on Aug. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion as she returns to perform some of her greatest hits along with music from her newest solo album, "In Your Dreams."

Nicks began performing at the age of 4 and started writing songs in her mid-teens, joining her first group, the Changing Times. Later in her high school years, she formed the band Fritz with fellow classmate Lindsey Buckingham and two other friends. The group gained popularity on the West Coast, opening for Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Creedence Clearwater Revival. After Fritz disbanded, Nicks and Buckingham formed a duo in 1973, creating their debut LP, "Buckingham Nicks."

The album was not successful, however it caught the attention of the members of Fleetwood Mac, who invited them to join the band in 1974. The success of the LPs "Fleetwood Mac" and "Rumours," and major hit singles like "Dreams" and "Rhiannon," made Nicks a focal point of the group. In 1981, she recorded her first solo album, "Bella Donna" that included famous hits such as "Edge of Seventeen (Just Like the White Winged Dove)."

Nicks took a long break from the music scene and left Fleetwood Mac in 1993, only to rejoin later in 1997 for a tour in support of the album "The Dance." In 1998, Nicks and the band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Throughout the years, Nicks recorded more solo albums and most recently released "In Your Dreams" in 2011 that incorporates folk songs, Italian love ballads and rock anthems.

Stevie Nicks takes the stage Aug. 13 with special guest Michael Grimm at 7:30 p.m. Get your tickets at The Pavilion Box Office, any Ticketmaster outlet or here.  Gates open at 6 p.m.

Visit the House of Blues Hospitality Tent at The Pavilion! It opens at 5 p.m. Aug. 13 for Stevie Nicks and remains open approximately one hour after the concert. Open for most Live Nation shows, admission is free for all concertgoers. Enjoy air-conditioning, private restrooms, a full-service bar, appetizer menu and live video-feed of the concert, when available. For more information, click here.
