The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion announces the upcoming Houston Symphony's performance titled Dvořák's Cello Concerto, under the direction of Maestro Hans Graf May 20 featuring the composer's impressive final concerto.

  Classical Music Takes the Stage with Dvořák's Cello Concerto featuring the Houston Symphony

The Houston
Symphony's performance titled Dvořák's Cello Concerto comes to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion May 20 at 8 p.m., featuring the composer's impressive final concerto. Hans Graf conducts this piece that is rich in expansive melodies, beautiful lyricism and extraordinary brilliance. Charismatic cellist, Alisa Weilerstein, brings her passionate interpretation to Dvořák'Weilersteins masterpiece. Weilerstein is a veteran on the classical music scene having performed with the nation's top orchestras, given recitals in music capitals throughout the U.S. and Europe, and regularly appeared at prestigious festivals. She also is a dedicated chamber musician. Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2 also is part of this classical concert. Pre-concert activities begin at 7 p.m. in the Fidelity Investments Plaza (read more below).

 

Tickets are $15 for orchestra seating. Mezzanine and lawn seating are free courtesy of The Wortham Foundation (tickets are not required for free seating). Picnics welcome (no outside beverages).
