15th Annual Children's Festival Performers Spotlight: Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience

Performers for the 15th Annual Children's Festival at The Pavilion have been announced! The festival is Sat., Nov. 13 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sun., Nov. 14 from noon-5 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance, $10 at the door.

ZydecoTerrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience offers a multicultural, live music experience from Louisiana with a focus on the indigenous zydeco music of the multiracial French speaking Creoles who settled their Parishes almost 300 years ago. Between the songs, he imparts important information and fun facts about his unique culture and rich zydeco music history that dates back almost 100 years. He also uses a Louisiana Creole flag to illustrate the cultural and racial diversity of the Creoles. There is audience participation with call and response, on stage frottoir (rubboard) jams, and of course no Louisiana experience is complete without those sparkling strands of Mardi Gras beads!

Terrance Simien & The Zydeco Experience performs at Children's Festival on Sat., Nov. 13 at 1:45 p.m. and Sun., Nov. 14 at 3:45 p.m. Artists, dates and times are subject to change without notice.
