The Pavilion's Music in Motion Educational Event Set for Sept. 18

Music in Motion 2

The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion, is inviting Conroe Independent School District high school band and orchestra students to join Houston Symphony musicians for FREE All-State Preparation Master Classes as part of Music in Motion. It takes place Sat., Sept. 18 from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Oak Ridge High School.

Professional symphony musicians will assist student musicians in their preparation for All-State competition. Instruments included in the master classes are oboe, trumpet, French horn, clarinet, flute and piccolo, with more classes planned in the future for other instruments. These Houston Symphony Master Classes are part of The Pavilion's Music in Motion educational outreach program, sponsored by The Woodlands Development Company in honor of Cynthia Woods Mitchell's commitment to the performing arts in our community.  Music in Motion makes a meaningful difference in the lives of student musicians by giving them unique training experiences that impact the way they play music.

KISS is one of America's top gold record champions, recording 37 albums over 36 years and selling more than 100 million albums worldwide. KISS

KISS began as a New York-based rock and roll band, Wicked Lester, created by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley in the early 1970's. Not happy with the direction of the group, the members parted ways in 1972. Later that year, Simmons found drummer Peter Criss, who joined him and Stanley as a trio.

In January 1973, guitarist Ace Frehley joined the group and the band officially became KISS. Years later, the group is still going strong. The famous KISS Army continues to grow and their loyalty to the "Hottest Band in the World" is stronger than ever.
